We use the latest technology in computerized sterilizers to execute, monitor and document sterilization; our office also meets or exceeds infection control standards set by our national and provincial licensing bodies: the CDA (Canadian Dental Association) and the MDA (Manitoba Dental Association).
Our office also follows procedures recommended by several other agencies: the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These include:
- Disinfectant hand sanitizer
- Gloves and face masks
- Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
- Four-handed dentistry
- Rubber dam and high-volume suction
- Sterilization of all equipment before every use
- Disposable materials
We use distilled water in each operatory, rather than biofilm-containing tap water to ensure your safety, comfort, and protection. We use alcohol hand rub prior to each procedure. We sterilize all reusable equipment, including dental handpieces. We also use state-of-the-art computerized autoclaves that kill bacteria and viruses using effective measures of time, temperature, and steam. Our autoclaves are monitored with EACH USE to ensure optimal performance. YOUR SAFETY is our priority.
